Youth outreach worker position terminated due to lack of funds

Youth seeking help in a troubled world will have one less resource at their disposal with the cutting of the North Star Youth Outreach Program by Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County Family and Community Support Services (FCSS).

“We ended up having to terminate this position specifically because we couldn’t sustain it,” said FCSS Director Kerri Jones last Thursday, stating the decision was made at an advisory board meeting the previous Monday.

“The loss of the program and the excellent service provided by the youth outreach worker is extremely unfortunate, but through further strategic planning we hope to offer outreach programming in 2013,” Jones further stated in a press release.
