Spray park project discussed with builder

Spray park discussed

Even Tofield Mayor Nabil Chehayeb couldn’t help but comment on the irony of splashing around the idea of a spray park on one of the first blustery winter days of the year last Tuesday.

Yet town council heard from an industry leading manufacturing company about toys, sprays, shooters, and much more during a 40 minute presentation, compliments of Shelley Robinson.

Robinson, a territory manager with Park N Play Design Co. Ltd., went over everything from concrete, brass bolts to recirculating and potable water systems.

She also presented three different design options that ranged in overall cost between $175,000 to $220,000 she felt would best meet the needs of residents in the community.

While the company is one of eight suppliers of splash parks, Robinson said what sets Park n Play above the rest is its “service commitment” as she is in constant communication via cell phone during instillation of a project.

Robinson also assured council members and Lions Club representatives in attendance that she was only a phone call away if they wanted to host a public meeting or open house. It is the Tofield Lions Club that will be applying for a $125,000 provincial government grant in the very near future. Club members and local businesses will also continue to sell raffle tickets for a ATV and cash prizes up until the Dec. 13th draw date.
