C.W. Sears hosts 18th Annual Family Literacy Night

Mom Valerie, with Eveline, Claire and Ericka Rickett read a book together as a family during Literacy Night at C.W. Sears School.

C.W. Sears School in Tofield hosted their 8th annual Family Literacy Night with the theme “Every Reader is a Star”.

The evening was held on Thursday, October 25th and started off with a warm welcome from grade one teacher Linda White.

A book was read by Sandra Bylozyr (the school’s librarian) called “My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs, and High Fives,” written by Jamie Lee Curtis.

She illustrated the book with a power point presentation about how, at a young age, the lead character had many new challenges and excitements in life to enjoy. These included bike riding, pets, new classes, friends, tying shoes and pony lessons.
