Beaver County Council passed first reading on a rezoning application to change 155 acres from agricultural district to country residential. A public hearing will be held at 11 a.m. in the county office chambers in Ryley on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The owner of NW 21-50-20-W4 wants the rezoning to pave the way for a future multi-lot subdivision.

The county’s planning and development report stated that the developer wants six country residential parcels to be built initially, with up to 35 more parcels and two municipal reserves built in future, depending on market conditions.

Director of Planning and Development Bill Rogers told council Nov. 16 that county policy presently allows for only a 30-lot subdivision.
