Satellites play barn-burner against first-place Northstars but fall 5-3

Satellites’ intense captain Ryan Olson stares down a defender

Tofield Satellites played a full-out barn-burner against first place Northstars but ultimately couldn’t quite keep up to the finely tuned Daysland team, losing 5-3 at Tofield Arena, Wednesday evening.

Satellites had a number of players who hadn’t made it to games in some time, and it hurt their line chemistry early as Daysland jumped ahead 3-1 and carried play in the first period.

Tofield came on in the second and third periods and probably deserved to be rewarded a little more than they were.

The win was the 11th in a row for Daysland, and the loss dropped the Satellites to a still respectful 9-6.

This Saturday Big Valley visits Tofield Arena for a Battle River Hockey League game against the Satellites.
