Satellites tie for second as regular season ends: split home-and-home with Sedgewick, now start playoffs with them

Sedgewick netminder Jordy Cox’s waterbottle went flying after Tofield Satellites third goal knocked it off the top of the net. Satellites won Sunday’s game 4-2 and now face Sedgewick in the opening round best-of-five playoff series beginning at Tofield Arena on Saturday evening at 8:30

Tofield Satellites will be very familiar with Sedgewick Sabres before too long, having split a home-and-home series to end the regular season and now having them as opponents for the best-of-five opening round of Battle River Hockey League (BRHL) playoffs starting this Saturday at Tofield Arena.

Satellites lost 3-2 in a shootout in Sedgewick on Saturday, and then downed the Sabres 4-2 at Tofield Arena, Sunday evening.

The Sunday game was sponsored by Thor Agencies, as the Tofield insurance company paid for all spectators’ entry to the game, gave away an ipad won by Deb Dueck, and sponsored an exciting $10,000 shoot to win after the second period that wasn’t won.
