Tofield Satellites take 3-0 series lead over Provost: one win from Provincial berth and BRHL championship series

Tofield Satellites dominated five-on-five play consistently for three periods, taking an early lead and applying pressure all evening in beating Provost Blades 5-1 and taking a commanding 3-0 Battle River Hockey League (BRHL) series lead at Tofield Arena, Friday.

Tofield seemed to be in little trouble for most of the game, but Satellites’ goalie Christopher Roy made some big stops especially during Provost’s several power plays. Roy was injured in the Sedgewick series during a crease collision and was making his return at Tofield on Friday.

While injured, goalie Jeremy Thom was stellar between the pipes for Satellites and the team finds itself with an embarrassment of riches in goal among other positions this season.

Dynamic forward Jeff Bienvenue attracted what seemed like a whole section of fans (friends and family from Vegreville) at Tofield Arena, and he put on a show for them having what may have been his best game of the playoffs.

Satellites will try to win the series on Sunday at 4:30 at Provost Arena. The Tofield team is on a six game winning streak.
