Dr. Maphos signs agreement as second doctor coming to Tofield in the fall -both will use Tofield Medical Centre

Dr. Mancha Maphosa has signed an agreement to come and practice in Tofield. The South African doctor is expected to arrive in the fall about the same time as Dr. Mohammed Muneer, who signed an agreement the previous week.

Apparently the cold didn’t matter so much. After touring Tofield and area the week before last, Dr. Mancha Maphosa of South Africa signed an agreement last Friday to come and practice medicine in Tofield.

This good news comes on the heels of hearing that Dr. Mohammed Muneer, who has been practicing in Ireland for the past nine years, signed a similar agreement April 15.

This will bring the number of doctors in Tofield to three once they arrive.

Both the new doctors are expected to arrive sometime in the fall. It will take time for them to get through the immigration process, and then undergo a three-month doctor physician assessment by the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons in another community, before being allowed to practice in Tofield.

“It’s excellent news,” said Zenovia Lazaruik… ”
