Students sing with space commander Chris Hadfield on Music Monday

Students from C.W. Sears School stare intently up at Commander Chris Hadfield, who is playing guitar and singing along with them and thousands of others during a high-tech concert on Music Monday from space.

“Very exciting, once in a lifetime event!”

That’s how Cheryl McCartney described being able to sing along with thousands of others while the world’s most famous current astronaut played guitar for them via a big screen television set.

On Monday May 6th, C.W. Sears students joined hundreds of thousands of other students across Canada for Music Monday.

“We participated in a live webcast connecting us with the International Space Station, so we could sing, ‘Is Somebody Singing’ with Commander Chris Hadfield,” said McCartney.

“It was a wonderful experience, as we filled the skies with music!”
