McPherson Library Summer Reading Program offers fun and games to encourage literacy and imagination

The McPherson Municipal Library Summer Reading Program’s second week had a winter theme, and kids enjoyed fun activities like making snow globes, marshmallow igloos, cotton ball snowmen, beaded icicles and snowflakes.

“Every week we have a different theme,” said coordinator Kelsey Kropielnicki, who will enter Grade 12 in September. “Last week, it was ‘Go Explore’ and we did a bunch of stuff outside.”

Every Friday is “Healthy Snack Day” from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., “and it’s free,” she said, for all ages.
