Cooper McLaren happy to win second steer wrestling high school rodeo championship

A Tofield steer wrestler has made good on his bid to win the Canadian National Senior High School Finals for the second year in a row.

This was Cooper McLaren’s last year of competition in the high school finals, having graduated in May. But he was bound and determined to go out on a high note and repeat his 2012 win, which he succeeded in doing in Nanton July 25-27.

As well as taking home a new buckle, pair of boots and gift certificates, he takes with him a lot of cred in pursuing his steer wrestling career in the amateur and college circuits.
