Over $6,000 raised for flood disaster victims after Tofield Farmers Market

“Thank you for an outstanding attendance in support of flood victims of Southern Alberta,” said organizer Yvonne Brown to the hall full of people at the fundraiser in the Tofield Community Hall Friday evening.

In all, just over $6,169 was raised to help the victims of the devastating floods which occurred in southern Alberta in late June.

The Flood Relief Fundraising Supper was held after the Tofield Farmers’ Market with the cooks serving up roast beef with fresh garden produce and dessert. The Tofield Colony graciously supplied all the potatoes, green beans and cucumbers used for the dinner.

The cupcakes were provided courtesy of the Celebrate Community Committee, and created by John Brindza in Tofield’s colours.
