The history of 4-H in Tofield and surrounding area was the subject of a retrospective with the help of Syd Sware, local 4-H leader, and her father, Ron Goeglein, during the Tofield Cultural Showcase on Friday night at the Community Hall.

4-H is celebrating its 100th birthday in Canada this year. Locally, the Beaver District 4-H Council represents Tofield, Holden and Viking clubs.

It was a big day for Tofield 4-H Beef Club as ATB – Tofield, celebrated the financial institution’s 75th birthday in Alberta with a $1,000 donation to the local club.

Syd, who is the current leader of the Tofield 4-H, said her family has been involved in the movement for the past four generations.
