Tofield firefighters donate over $22,000 to Stollery Children’s Hospital

Stollery-Donation

This is the third presentation the Tofield Volunteer Fire Department Society has made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, a donation of $22,080.18 raised at the Fireman’s Ball last November.

The firefighters do it for the same reason they rush out when called to help their fellow residents in times of crisis. They have an unofficial motto posted above a door in the firehall bay that states, “Because We Care,” which basically says it all.

So far, the Stollery has received a total of $63,301.06 from the society’s three balls, including $15,220,88 in 2007, $26,000 in 2008, and now $22,080.18 in 2013.

Joanna Beg Pattison, Community Initiatives Coordinator for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, received the cheque at a presentation in the firehall Thursday, Jan. 16.
