The regular meeting of the Holden Village Council took place on Monday, Dec. 19 with Mayor Christine Mackay, and councillors Reg Kaluzny, Bernie Marko, Peggy Nahirniak and Carissa Oswald present. Also present was Village CAO Katherine Whiteside.

Council authorized the unbudgeted expenditure of $5,000 for grader repair and $3,000 for floor replacement in the lift station.

Whiteside later described this as a maintenance issue, not an emergency. However, as it was out of bounds of the village budget, the Municipal Government Act dictates council pass a special motion. The wooden floor in the lift station wet well was rotting and will be replaced with aluminum, she said.

Council approved the 2011 consolidated budget as the interim operating budget for 2012.
