Diana Balbar is living her dream through her love of dance and horses, which has translated into the joy of helping Ministik School students also share in these experiences.

Balbar has been a riding instructor locally for the past 35 years at her Bell Bar Ranch riding school just down the road from the school.

Plus she teaches dance on a volunteer basis at the elementary school one month out of the year.

“The community is very important to me. This school is a large part of my community,” she said. “Probably what I do is make it fun, both riding and dancing.”

It all began with her love of books. In 1982, she started stopping at the school as part of her job with the Strathcona County Library Book-mobile, a job she holds to this day.
