FCSS Director Kerri Jones is excited about receiving funding to help out seniors in the area.

The social service agency was granted $25,000 in New Horizons for Seniors funding. Vegreville-Wainwright MP Leon Benoit made the official announcement at the office of the Tofield/Ryley/Beaver FCSS Saturday.

“Seniors in Tofield will soon be participating in the organization and selection of topics for information sessions on active and healthy living and the planning and arranging of field trips for other seniors,” he said, acknowledging the fact that the local FCSS made a successful bid for funding that has mainly gone to seniors drop-in centres in the past.
