It’s impossible to live in Alberta and not expect a few cold days. Students in rural Alberta face the challenge of knowing what to do about school days with inclement weather.

Battle River School Division new school policy states “Buses don’t run when the temperature falls below -40 Celsius with wind chill.

This past week saw record cold conditions, with -40 degrees Celsius, including the wind chill, taking hold in the early part of last week.

Buses did not run at Tofield and C.W. Sears schools last Tuesday and Wednesday. Ryley and Holden school buses didn’t run on Wednesday and Thursday.
