Mammoet Canada Western Ltd. began the move on Wednesday from Edmonton, parking overnight at the junction of Highways 21 and 14. Thursday began the trip down Highway 14 west, arriving at Tofield about 10:10 a.m.

A brief stop allowed the traffic to get around the giant vessel, which was going to an industrial site north of Fort McMurray. The load proceeded west to Viking before turning north onto Highway 36 and parking overnight at Two Hills.

Pilot vehicles and flag persons accompanied the load to control traffic and enhance safety.
