Jared Kope finds time at Commonwealth Games in Scotland a truly “wonderful” experience

Jared Kope attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland this summer, and reported to all his friends and family on his blog about the experience.

“It was wonderful,” he said. “And it is something I will never forget. I was so fortunate to have worked with and met so many great people during my time in Glasgow.”

Kope, 26, grew up in Tofield and has been working this year in Mozambique with the Commonwealth Games Canada’s (CGA) Sportworks Program, travelling with the Mozambique National Olympic Committee to the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

International work has been Kope’s mainstay over the past few years, with a devotion to sport development. “Personally, I hope to keep thinking critically about development work in a sporting context,” he writes. “Furthermore, I am hoping to gain experience in administration work and organizational strategic planning.
