Remembering the Fallen – Lest We Forget

Remembrance-March

Tofield Legion No. 92, like other Legions throughout the country, held its Remembrance Day Services on Tuesday, November 11 to honour the war dead.

The local veterans and others braved the cold to do a ceremonial march past the Cenotaph before heading into the Community Hall for the services, with the theme “A Day of Remembrance.”

The March in of the Colours took place with the help of Pipe Sgt. Chris Warren. The solemn service began with the playing of “The Last Post/Lament,” followed by silence to honour those who have laid their lives down for freedom.

Then the “Act of Remembrance,” starting with “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old…” was read out to a hushed audience.
