Ryley Council repeals motion on wastewater sale option

Ryley Village Council held a special meeting on Wednesday, April 8 to consider its position regarding the potential sale of wastewater to a bio-incinerator project trying to establish itself in Equity Industrial Park.

Ryley Council heard its options from village CAO Janet Winsnes before opting to repeal an earlier motion that had caused controversy in the village. That motion had stated the village would enter into negotiations with G-M Pearson to sell its wastewater if the county approved a development permit for the incinerator company.

The village had earlier received a legal petition from villagers requesting the village not sell wastewater to G-M Pearson.
