Holden Seniors Club gets grant for new roof

Holden-Seniors

Delbert Degenhardt was all smiles at the official announcement that the Holden Seniors Club received $13,200 from the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP).

As club President, he knew the funding would ensure that weekly card games and shuffleboard, morning coffee, afternoon teas and socializing would continue, all thanks to the new tin roof the funding made possible for the club’s building on main street.

The active organization also has community teas twice a year, potluck dinners as well as renting the facility to families and other groups to use.

“The roof went on in May when the money came,” said Degenhardt… for more see the July 28/15 Mercury.
