Diversity celebrated at Alberta Culture Days supper – Health Foundation report states local doctor recruitment ends as AHS takes over

Culture-Supper

Tofield’s Cultural Days Supper was an opportunity to enjoy an evening celebrating diversity in our midst.

The crowd feasted on a banquet of cuisines brought by nine local restaurants. The Farmers’ Market helped with coffee, tea, butter and napkins, plus the cultural displays in the foyer. And Margaret Stutzman, the health foundation’s former chief cook at their suppers, brought her special salad and dessert for the supper as well.

This year, the cultural supper was a joint effort of the Tofield and Area Health Foundation and a new group called the Tofield Welcome Initiative. The initiative raises awareness of cultural diversity and how being welcoming of newcomers can contribute to social and economic growth.

Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville MLA Jessica Littlewood attended, stating: “We enjoy such a diverse culture in Alberta, it’s definitely worth celebrating. I’m really proud to come and welcome you to Alberta Culture Days.”… for more see the Sept. 29/15 Mercury
