Remembering the fallen at Tofield’s November 11 services

Remember-Wreath

As happened all over the country on November 11, the people of Tofield and area stopped to remember and honour those who lost their lives in the defence of their country.

Tofield Legion No. 91 Colour Party marched in the colours. At 11 a.m. “The Last Post/Lament” rang through the hall, followed by two minutes of reverent silence by all present.

One of the most poignant places in the service is the reading of “The Act of Remembrance” by Legion President Barbara Ferguson, with everyone repeating “We Will Remember Them” at the conclusion.

Many local officials, groups and organizations took part in the laying of the wreaths. The opening prayer by Rev. Laureta Blondin was followed by a scripture reading and a meditation for all to ponder…. for more see the Nov. 17/15 Mercury
