2015 Tofield WinterFest a big hit with crowds

Winterfest-Crowd

The 2015 Tofield WinterFest was a hugely successful venture this year as droves of people came out for the many events. Even the mild weather cooperated offering a wintery look and feel without being too cold.

This year’s Breakfast with Santa and Stuff the Bus events, both to raise money and food for the Christmas Hamper Program, were also well supported. At the breakfast, over 70 families attended to enjoy a hearty meal and visit with Santa. It likely doubles the 36 families of the previous year.

At the Stuff the Bus held in the Tofield IGA parking lot, people donated hampers that could be purchased in the store for $10 and $15 each. IGA owner Dave Hare matched each purchase on this special day. Staffing the bus were members of the Tofield 4-H Beef and Equine Club. The bus itself was donated by the Mennonite Church.

In the afternoon, Santa attended the Christmas Market and was also well received there.
