Albertans First anti-Bill 6 petition comes to Toifield

Wesley Huseby and Darryl Kropielnicki brought their Albertans First trailer to Tofield to gather signatures on a plebiscite opposing the NDP government’s Bill 6 and a carbon tax.

The two Ryley area farmers are part of the Albertans First Plebiscite Warriors who were roaming the province to gain enough signatures to force the government to hold a plebiscite on the farm safety act and the introduction of a carbon tax. However, both men agree there is no set number of signatures that can trigger this action.

Tuesday, March 7 was the last day before all the signatures were to be gathered up and presented to the Lieut.-Gov. Lois Mitchell. On Tuesday, March 8 a protest at the Legislature led by Albertans First leader George Clark revealed the total number of people who signed the petition to be 164,683.
