Tofield’s Grade 5/6 students raise $1,721 selling freezes for Red Cross’ Fort McMurray relief fund

With the Fort McMurray wildfire evacuees in mind, Tofield School’s Grade 5 and 6 students set out to raise funds for the Red Cross.

And they did it in a hurry as those displaced people need help just as quickly.

The teachers of these students felt something should be done and asked them what they thought would be a good idea. “They came up with this themselves,” said Grade 6 teacher Ashley Hissett.

Other teachers included Shelley Reich (Grade 6), Heather Harkness (Grade 5) and Brenda Johnson (Grade 5).
