$40,000 Holden Village decision for Gazebo Park reversed

HoldenCouncil-GroupHolden’s Gazebo Park controversy ended June 20 with village council reversing a decision to fund $40,000 for the park’s upgrades.

A delegation of about 30 people made its views known through spokesperson Daniel Shihinski. The previous week, a petition bearing about 850 signatures was submitted to the Village office stating opposition to any further financial input into the park.

The vote was not unanimous, however, with Mayor Carl Marsh opposed to the reversal. Councillors Bernie Marko, Mark Giebelhaus, Tyler Bartel and new councillor Brian Mattice voted in favour – to cheering and clapping by the delegation.
