Tofield Historical Society celebrates 55 years with Open House

Society-DignitariesThe Tofield Historical Society held an Open House Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Tofield Museum to celebrate another milestone in the life of the society – 55 years of promoting the history of Tofield and area.

The event brought out Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville MLA Jessica Littlewood to help with the celebrations, which included a cake, snacks and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.

Also attending on behalf of the Town of Tofield were councillors Cathy Brown and Bernie Perrot. Members of the society greeted guests and helped serve the refreshments.

Over the 55 years of the historical society, founded in the spring of 1961, volunteers have been the mainstay of the work carried on to preserve for antiquity the area’s history.
