Barriers to bringing PCN programs to Tofield – Can’t find space for nurse in local clinics

Tofield is the latest member and is still experiencing some growing pains. While new doctors are being trained to work in a team environment in medical schools today, many doctors are used to working individually in their clinics or offices.

“Doctors weren’t trained like that in medical school, going from practicing individually to a team.” said Stril-chuk, adding she understood why some might find difficulty with this approach.

When Tofield Mayor Harold Conquest asked how to get some of PCN’s programs into the community, Strilchuk replied there were “some barriers in Tofield.
