Kevin Smook returned as reeve for third year

There will be no changes to Beaver County Council following an organizational meeting last week.

Division 1 Councillor Kevin Smook has been elected Reeve of Beaver County for the third year in a row following an organizational meeting held Wednesday, Oct. 19.

The vote was held between Smook and Division 5 Councillor and former reeve Arnold Hanson. Sieko Scott (Division 2) nominated Smook and Ron Yarham (Division 3) nominated Hanson.

Before the vote, both councillors spoke. “I’ve enjoyed being the reeve for the last two years and hope you have been happy with my and council’s actions,” said Smook.
