Holden Council working to keep improving main street

The Village of Holden held its regular council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21 with Mayor Christine Mackay, and councillors Reg Kaluzny, Bernie Marko, Peggy Nahirniak and Carissa Oswald. Chief Administrative Officer Katherine White-side was also in attendance.

Village Addresses Alkaline Soil Problem

The village received a delegation of Black Earth Humic delegates, Darren Goertzen, Brett Halliday and Lanny Fisher, who spoke of the rejuvenating benefits of their product on the alkaline soil in the village.

“It’s a problem all across the village,” said Whiteside after the meeting. “We have struggled with keeping plant life going, especially in the park.”
