Tributes poured in at the 30th annual Sodbuster Rodeo for the couple who brought rodeo to Tofield three decades ago.

Glenn and Theone Jones were squired into the arena in a beautiful horse-drawn wagon, before Theone was presented with flowers and Glenn received a 30-year buckle from Tofield Agricultural Society Rodeo Committee Chair Rick Neufeld.

Glenn Jones was the director of the agricultural society 30 years ago when the rodeo was spearheaded by the ag society.

Rodeo announcer Emery Erickson called the wagon ride “a perfect way to introduce” the couple. “It just doesn’t get any better than this.

“The rodeo you are about to watch has been 30 years in the making,” he said. “People worked very hard to make this happen. It takes commitment and people willing to volunteer their time.
