Safety Day for kids held at Tofield Arena

On July 18th, the Town of Tofield’s 40 registered children in the Summer Program were in for a treat at the Tofield Arena where they got to learn all about safety.

The children got to go on a school bus while driver Sheryl Laarhuis explained what they were to do to be safe while on a bus ride, as well as how their parents were supposed to drive their vehicles when a bus stops to let children off.

During their safety day excursion, they met EMTs Ryan Meagher and Phillip Waters, who let the children sit on the stretcher in the back of the EMS bus. Here the children learned how everything worked in the EMS vehicle, along with how the EMT remain safe while helping their patient.
