Playground project gets $125,000 grant – Equipment to be installed by Sept. 30th

The project to build a new playground at C.W. Sears Elementary in Tofield has reached fruition – word was received last Thursday that a matching provincial grant of $125,000 has been approved.

This means that the C.W. Sears School Playground Project itself raised cash and in-kind funding of $125,000.

That’s no mean feat considering the committee went into the project with only $19,000 at the beginning of the last school year.

It means that this committee raised $110,000 in just 10 months, enough to qualify for the Community Facility Enhancement Project (CFEP) funding.
