Satellites lose in OT: Down 2-0 in best-of-7, Tofield at home Thursday

Former Memorial Cup winner, Kevin Reinholt of Tofield, blasts a slapshot toward Sedgewick goalie Jordy Cox but it was blocked by defenceman Chris Dawn. Reinholt is in his first season with the Satellites but his size, demeanor and good decision-making on the back-end has been a big addition to the Tofield senior team this season. Satellites, down 2-0 in its playoff series against Sedgewick, hosts game 4 Thursday evening

Tofield Satellites had to over-come several obstacles in coming from behind in game two of its Battle River Hockey League (BRHL) opening round best-of-seven series with Sedgewick Sabres on Saturday evening at Tofield Arena, but ultimately suffered a disappointing 6-5 loss in overtime.

The result put the Satellites down 2-0 in the series, losing 7-4 in Sedgewick the previous evening.

Both games saw a lot of cheap infractions, mostly a lot of from behind and high hits by the Sabres, and a lot of retaliation penalties by a frustrated Tofield team.

Sedgewick clearly illustrated why it was the highest penalized team in the league.
