Natasha Gacek wins Queen’s Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal – One of only five students to earn medal in province; recipient recognized for community service

Natasha Gacek, who just graduated from high school in Tofield last year, has been given a singular honour.

She is to receive the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal in a special ceremony this summer hosted by the Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta. Along with the medal comes $5,000, which will be given to her in March.

Natasha’s contributions to her local community had a great deal to do with her becoming the recipient of a such a prestigious award.

The first-year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Alberta Augustana Campus has a goal of becoming a recreational therapist, specializing in paediatrics.
