In implementing its Community Support Requests Policy, County Council raised its budget for the policy to $40,000. The county has also increased the number of times applications may be made for both operating and capital funding requests to Jan. 1, April 1, June 1, and Oct. 1.
“The most significant policy change,” said communications officer Julie Ewashko, is in the outlining of the various categories for eligibility such as arts, sports, education, etc. “It’s quite comprehensive. We want to be as all inclusive as possible.”
As well, it was decided that business plans would not be required unless the amount requested exceeds $9,999.
