Collision on Hwy 16 kills two people but spares Tofield man

Tofield Emergency Services attended a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 16 just west of the entrance to Elk Island National Park on Wednesday, March 7.

Two pickup trucks collided at about 11:45 a.m. while both were travelling west, forcing both vehicles off the road.

A man and a woman in one of the trucks were both thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver and lone occupant of the other vehicle, a 27-year-old Tofield man, was not in-jured.
