Ryley celebrates church’s 60th Waffle Day and Bake Sale

The Bethel Lutheran Ladies of Ryley put on another fine spread this year as people crowded into the church hall to enjoy their Waffle Day and Bake Sale on Wednesday, March 14.

But the annual church fundraiser was even more special this year as the community helped celebrate the event’s 60 year anniversary.

The doors opened at 11 a.m. and ran until 6 p.m., with the ladies’ church group going flat out to serve up waffles, sausages, strawberries and whipped cream, an amazing assortment of pies, and other baking delights.

This one-day event takes three days out of their time for those preparing the food beforehand and cleaning up afterwards. But for them, the effort is worthwhile as all the proceeds go towards the running of the church for another year.
