Tofield graduate earns All-Canadian volleyball award

Cole McCartney’s volleyball achievements just keep on keeping on. The Tofield School graduate received an All Canadian volleyball award in recognition of his outstanding playing for an Augustana university team.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Abbotsford March 7.

The 6 ft. 5 in. middle position player is in his second year with the Augustana Vikings under coach Tom Tigch-elaar.

He was presented his All-Canadian award by Ry Sarkis, men’s volleyball national convenor for the Canadian Colleges Athletic Asso-ciation (CCAA). Cole was one of only 10 athletes recognized for his playing ability throughout the season.

The 19-year-old was also named to the Al-berta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) first all-star team.
