“Loose Ends” Column by Carol Livingstone

Over the winter my sewing room (called my quilting studio when I’m feeling high-hat and pretentious) has taken on the appearance of one of those hoarder’s homes on television.

Not that I’m a hoarder; I can toss stuff out with the best of them.

But despite my efforts to use what’s there and buy very little new, my stash (fabrics I’ve stockpiled over time and a necessity to every quilter’s well-being) seems to be swelling instead of shrinking.

I can’t figure it out. Have the cotton fibres discovered a way to multiply or replenish themselves when I’m not looking?

I keep them clean and dry. Perhaps I need to hose them down occasionally.
