All-Candidates Forum to be held in Ryley – co-hosted by Ryley and county to help end voter confusion due to recent election boundary changes

Two candidates' posters promoting the same riding, for the same party!

The race appears to be between the Progressive Conservative and Wildrose candidates in the ridings of Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville and Battle River-Wainwright.

But some Beaver County residents are confused by the reconfiguring of electoral boundaries. They don’t know which is their riding, or which are the candidates they have to choose from come election day April 23.

Ryley, Holden and Bruce communities, and their surrounding areas, are now in the Battle River-Wainwright riding, whereas previously they were part of Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville.

Tofield itself and areas to the north are still within Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville.

It hasn’t helped that, in Ryley at least, candidate signs from both local ridings were further confusing the issue.

For that reason, Ryley Mayor Cyndy Heslin has organized an all-candidates forum in conjunction with Beaver County to inform residents of their local candidates.
