Water system in Kinsella to be addressed at council this week
The county’s committee of the whole heard a draft report from AMEC Environment and Infrastructure of Edmonton on the assessment of the Hamlet of Kinsella’s water distribution system at its April 4 meeting.
After discussion, the committee passed a motion by councillor Sieko Scott (Division 1) to recommend that county council immediately proceed on improvements to the pumphouse, reservoir and chlorination system in the hamlet.
County council decided the problems with the Kinsella water system would be the county’s top strategic priority in 2012.
Part of Scott’s April 4 motion was to hold a public open house in Kinsella sometime in May or June to present the findings to the public and get public feedback on possible solutions to the problems.
County council was to meet this week with the Kinsella recommendations part of the agenda.
The draft report discussed two phases for this project. The first was to fix the chlorine problems in the reservoir and pumphouse.
