Ryley grads reflect on shared memories

Ryley School graduates had plenty to smile about as their loved ones gathered with them Saturday night to celebrate graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2012.

Thirty students took to the stage at the Ryley Community Centre for their exercises after enjoying a beautiful banquet dinner with toasts and greetings from local dignitaries.

But now it was the graduates’ turn to shine in the spotlight, as they came, dressed in their best finery, through the Processional arch and down the aisle to the stage, receiving the accolades of the crowd as they came.

Fred Yachimec acted as Master of Ceremonies for the evening, with Brady Hammond leading in “O Canada” to begin the official part of the exercises.

The evening was heartfelt and warm in its remembrances of times past when grads were together growing up over the years. The theme for the event was “We laid a lot of memories down…,” and many of those memories were reminisced about, often with laughter.

Alex Lauber gave the valedictory address, thanking the teachers, communities of Ryley and Holden, coaches and mentors who have helped those in her class throughout the years.
