Ball hockey’s first season big success as kids play for fun
Ball hockey is wrapping up its first season in the area after proving to be a great success. Boys and girls from Tofield and surrounding communities have been coming together on weekdays at the Tofield Arena to enjoy some good natured ad hoc fun.
The brainchild of Metieke Hare, the games started in April and conclude at the end of this week. The combination of playing hockey using a ball instead of a puck, and on concrete instead of ice in the arena, has caught on like wildfire just by the force of word of mouth.
The mixed teams are usually three players versus three other players, plus goalies for each side.
