Bardo Sports Day ball action revisits last year’s final with different results
The baseball gods and sun were shining on Bardo on Saturday, June 9 as a quarter inch of rain had hit the diamond overnight. The ground crew of Kent Rude, and Warren and Ken Stauffer, made it “playable.”
The day started off with a wet and sloppy game between Ryley and Leduc. The game showcased Ryley’s Corey Epp facing off against Leduc’s Jon Antsey. Both pitchers chucked well but Leduc put together a few strings of AB’s to end up winning the game and sending them to the final later in the day.
Next game would pit Armena versus the Athletics. The A’s have yet to beat Armena in three games this year so they knew they would have to battle some demons along with the consistent arm of Clark Banack to get over this hump. Bardo tossed Ray “the legend” Lehman to the mound and he did not disappoint. He worked counts to his advantage, kept the batters on edge with his many different arm slots and deliveries.
