Uncategorized Branding at Ryley Museum publisher July 24, 2012 The Ryley Museum hosted its second annual Strawberry Tea and Branding Iron event on the afternoon of Thursday, July 18. The museum was open for viewing while others enjoyed the tea in the Community Centre. Still others took the time to bring their branding irons from the farm and create their brand on a board with other farm families to be kept on display for posterity at the museum. The branding display took place at the Lions Gazebo to the right of the museum. The museum plans to have a plaque put up on the display for each brand with the family name, where the brand was placed on the animal when it was in use, and the farm location. The branding event is being done so the history of branding in the area won’t be lost.
