Quilters show their passion for craft

For the members of the Tofield Country Quilters Guild, the quilts on display at their “Experience the Bounty in Beaver County” show this past weekend were a labour of love to make.

This group of 20 plus quilters put on display an unofficial count of 194 quilts last Friday and Saturday at the C.W. Sears Elementary School.
“All these quilts were done by members of the Tofield Country Quilters Guild,” said guild member Carol Livingstone. “These are quilts we’ve all done since our last show three years ago during the town’s centennial year celebrations.”

The show was a decided success this year, with patrons coming in to see the many wonderful designs and colours featured. There was also a merchant’s mall, door prizes and refreshments.

Many viewers came away with high praise for the display, and one of the quilts first noticed when entering the hall was Jodi Leone’s “Faery Paradise.”
Leone, who has only been with the guild for just over a year, has a new calling in life thanks to finding her passion and receiving the support of other guild members.
